Background of the beneficiary: In one of the horrifying incidents reported in a leading newspaper wherein it had been reported that a Chinese manjha kite string slit the throat of a 7 years old girl while on a motorcycle with her father, who later on succumbed to her injuries. The girl was studying in 3rd class.

Grievance of the beneficiary: Girl of tender age was killed by Chinese manjha. Her parents were aggrieved by the unfortunate incident. Though, no amount of money can substitute the loss of life, however, money can serve as bridge to overcome the difficulties of life due to loss of family member. It can lessen the burden of the family members left behind and can provide some solace.

Role of Legal Services Authority played in addressing the grievance: Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA), after taking the suo motu cognizance, has awarded an amount of ₹2 Lakh as an interim compensation to the legal heirs of the deceased, considering it to be an exceptional case involving extreme hardship and gravity of offence.
