HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE MANMOHAN

An alumnus of Modern School, Hindu College and Campus Law Centre, Justice Manmohan was enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council of Delhi in 1987. He practiced in the Supreme Court of India and High Court of Delhi in various Civil, Criminal, Constitutional, Taxation, Arbitration and Trademark litigations.

Designated as a Senior Advocate in 2003- he appeared in various important cases including Dabhol Power Company, Hyderabad Nizam’s Jewellery Trust matter, Claridges Hotel dispute and has also participated in various Seminars and Conferences of National and International repute.

Elevated as an Additional Judge of the High Court of Delhi in 2008, and appointed as a Permanent Judge in 2009- he has delivered a number of significant judgments concerning rights of economically weaker sections to get state support in case of chronic and critical medical condition (Mohd. Ahmed Vs. UOI & Ors., 2014 SCC OnLine Del 1508; Mohd. Kalim Vs. ESIC & Ors: W.P.(C) 8445/2014) as well as right of every child to access digital education during the Covid-19 pandemic and creation of a universal administrative protocol to deal with rescue and rehablitation of children who are victims of human trafficking.

His judgements on dynamic injunction (UTV Software Communication Ltd. and Ors. Vs. 1337X.TO and Ors., 2019 SCC OnLine Del 8002); formula to compute damages in trademark matters (Koninlijke Philips N.V. & Anr. Vs. Amazestore & Ors., 2019 SCC OnLine Del 8198) and permitting children to use their mother’s surname in legal documents are considered pioneering precedents.
