Profile of Ms. Sunena Sharma, DHJS
Ms. Sunena Sharma, DHJS, is a distinguished judicial officer with over two decades of experience in the Delhi Judiciary. She graduated in science from Ramjas College, Delhi University and then pursued law and did LL.B from Campus Law Centre, Delhi and LL.M from Kurukshetra University. She joined the Delhi Judicial Service on 03 March 2003 and was inducted into the Delhi Higher Judicial Service on 15 January 2014.
He earned an LL.B. degree from Law Centre-I, University of Delhi and also holds an LL.M. degree. He attained Post Graduation Diploma in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations from Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan and Post-Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and International Trade Laws from Amity Law School, New Delhi.
Before joining as Member Secretary (DSLSA), he held positions of Additional District Judge (Matrimonial Cases), Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ), Presiding Officer-Industrial Tribunal, Presiding Officer-Labour Court, Presiding Officer-MACT, District Judge (Commercial Court), District Judge, Commercial (Digital Court) and Special Judge (PC Act) CBI.
Over the course of her distinguished judicial career, she has had the opportunity to serve across a wide spectrum of judicial forums and jurisdictions. She has served as Civil Judge and Metropolitan Magistrate in various districts of Delhi. Her tenure as DJS also includes her postings as Metropolitan Magistrate (Mahila Court) and Principal Magistrate, Juvenile Justice Board-I, Kingsway Camp, reflecting her experience in matters concerning women and Children.
Upon her promotion to Higher Judicial Services, she served as Additional District Judge and Additional Sessions Judge in different districts. She also served as Special Judge (PC Act) (CBI) at the Rouse Avenue Court Complex, and as Presiding Officer, MACT, New Delhi District.
Her judicial journey also includes her postings as District Judge (Commercial Court)-04, South-East, Saket, and Special Judge (PC Act) (CBI) dealing with Coal Block Cases at the Rouse Avenue Court Complex. She has thus brought to her judicial career a rich and varied experience spanning civil, criminal, commercial matters, motor accident claims, special CBI matters.
In addition to her judicial responsibilities, she has also served as DDO/HO (Head of Office) at the South District from 2017-2019. Further she has also worked as the Chairperson of the Sexual Harassment Committee at the Saket Courts from 2018-2020 and Delhi Victim Compensation Committee at DLSA, South District from 2019-2020.
Ms. Sunena Sharma assumed charge as the Member Secretary, Delhi State Legal Services Authority, from 5th October, 2026.
