The objective of the programme was to sensitize students about the legal framework, social consequences, and harmful effects of child marriage, and to promote awareness about available support and reporting mechanisms.<\/p>\n<p>The session was conducted by <strong>Ms. Puvali Singh<\/strong>, Resource Person, who elaborated upon the <strong>Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006<\/strong>, highlighting the legal provisions, punishments, and responsibilities of various stakeholders. She also discussed the <strong>adverse physical, psychological, social, and educational impacts<\/strong> of child marriage, particularly on children, with special emphasis on girls.<\/p>\n<p>Further, the participants were informed about <strong>reporting mechanisms<\/strong>, including <strong>Child Helpline 1098<\/strong> and <strong>Legal Aid Helplines #15100 \/ #1516<\/strong>, and the procedure for seeking immediate assistance. Awareness was also created regarding the <strong>Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat Portal<\/strong>, its purpose, and its role in reporting and preventing instances of child marriage.
