Rescue Drives for the victims of Child Trafficking initiated by Central DLSA in association with SAATHI NGO and Delhi Police at New Delhi Railway Station. During the said rescue drive, the following steps were taken:
- About 140 children were rescued.
- About 40 Children were restored to their families.
- About 100 Children were sent to shelter homes. The efforts to find their homes and parents are being made with the help of relevant authorities.
The families of the rescued children were thankful and emotional on getting their children back. They thanked Central DLSA very much. Some of the children reported that they were school dropouts and were working in different places. On a request made by the Ld. Secretary, Central DLSA, the guardians of the children promised that they will take care of them properly. The guardians agreed to get the children admitted to the schools again and provide them with proper educational opportunities so that they can become responsible citizens of the country.
The next phase of rescue drive has already started on 24th September, 2019 with the aim of rescuing maximum children possible. The panel advocates are once again working hard to preserve the childhood of children and help them make a better future for themselves.
