School Admission drive for EWS and Disabled category children

The importance of educating our youth is evident from the fact that they constitute one third of our population.

Thus this initiative was taken by CDLSA to ensure proper education facilities and opportunities are made available to the economically weaker sections of the society.  Accordingly, in the month of January, 2019 Central DLSA organized an admission drive to facilitate the admissions of ‘EWS Category Children’ and ‘Children with Disability’ category in Private Unaided Recognized Schools.  The children were assisted in filling admission forms through computerized online admission system at the entry level classes i.e. Pre-School/ Pre-Nursery, Pre-Primary / KG and Class-1 for the academic session 2019-20. The initiative was undertaken in co-ordination with Legal Aid Society, Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law, Delhi University in the areas of Malka Ganj, Shakti Nagar Railway Bridge, Peer Bagchi and Andha Mughal areas.

The program was a huge success. About 65 Forms were filled and about 200 parents were asked to collect requisite documents till the next phase of drive. The initiative was to enforce the Right to Education granted to children under the Constitution of India. It was an effort by the Central DLSA Team to help the children living in financial stringencies to realise their fundamental Right to Education.
