Admission of homeless women into PMKVY Training Center

Central District Legal Services Authority organizes legal awareness programme from time to time. In the month of July, 2019, Central DLSA organized a visit at a night shelter for women in Regharpura, Karol Bagh where Ld. Secretary Sh. Sandeep Gupta met various homeless women ranging from 18 to 65 years of age, living in miserable circumstances. Living on the streets without any shelter increases the vulnerability of homeless women to suffer the worst kinds of violence, insecurity, sexual abuse, exploitation & trafficking. The aforesaid homeless women expressed their willingness & most humbly requested the Hon’ble judge to get them enrolled in their nearby centers offering various courses by which they can earn their livelihood and live their life with a sense of pride & dignity. For this, the Ld. Secretary Sh. Sandeep Gupta appointed a Panel Advocate who provided all the required assistance to the homeless women. After that the Panel advocate found the nearest Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Kendra and successfully enrolled 6 women of the night shelter in various course like, Yoga trainer, Beautician, and computer trainer etc. These 6 women are happy and relieved because they will be able to earn their livelihood and live their life with dignity. They are grateful to the Central District Legal Services Authority for helping them get back on their feet and living their life with financial independence.
