DLSA South-East, under the aegis of the NALSA and DSLSA, organised an awareness programme on 12.06.2026 at Tughlakabad, South Delhi, as part of its ongoing awareness, sensitisation and outreach activities regarding the functioning of Permanent Lok Adalats (PLAs). The programme was conducted to educate the public about the role, jurisdiction, procedure and benefits of Permanent Lok Adalats relating to Public Utility Services. As the programme was organised on the occasion of the World Day Against Child Labour, the participants were also sensitised on the topic “Child Labour: Understanding the Law and Social Responsibility”. The initiative aimed to create awareness about the legal provisions prohibiting child labour and the collective responsibility of society in ensuring the protection and welfare of children. LSA Arun Kumar served as the Resource Person and sensitised the participants about the importance and functioning of Permanent Lok Adalats, highlighting their role in providing an effective, accessible and speedy mechanism for the resolution of disputes concerning Public Utility Services. The participants were also informed about the jurisdiction, procedure and various benefits of approaching Permanent Lok Adalats. A total of 30 participants attended the programme and were sensitised regarding the services and functions of Permanent Lok Adalats as well as the legal and social aspects relating to the prevention of child labour.
