Kumar Rahul graduated from West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata in 2012. He started his career at a corporate law firm in Delhi, then moved to Indian Oil Corporation as a Law Officer. Thereafter, he joined Jharkhand Judicial Services and served as Judicial Magistrate/Judge-in-charge at Deoghar, Jharkhand.
He joined Delhi Judicial Services in 2020. As a member of DJS, he served as Civil Judge (North) Rohini court , MM- NI Act- Digital Court, North West District, Rohini and MM-09, South East District, Saket Court before joining as Secretary, DLSA, New Delhi District with effect from April 18, 2024.
