SUCCESS STORY OF CIVIL COURT CASE

Applicant in this case was a widow and a mother of four minor children. Since August, 2012, her mother-in-law and brother-in-law were allegedly harassing her and removed electricity meter of floor where applicant was residing with her children. The applicant ran pillar to post but to no avail. She also filed one suit CS No. 10681/2016 for restoration of Electricity in her premises but no relief could be obtained for next 3 years. She was then advised by someone to approach before the office of Legal Aid where Legal Aid Counsel Ms. Meenu Juneja was promptly appointed in her case. The suit was fixed for arguments on application under order 39 Rule 1 and 2 of CPC. At this stage, on the very first date of appearance, Legal Aid Counsel Ms. Meenu Juneja filed her authority letter and addressed arguments on the application and placed various landmark judgments of Hon’ble Supreme Court on the record and managed to secure order of restoration of Electricity on the floor of applicant from the court concerned. However, BSES who was also the party to the suit failed to install the meter within stipulated period of time consequent to which, LAC filed a contempt application under order 39 Rule 2A of CPC and was successful in getting Electricity meter installed in the premises of the applicant. The applicant was very satisfied and expressed her gratitude to the Authority and appreciated the efforts of LAC Ms. Meenu Juneja.
