Broken Family re-united with the efforts of DLSA
A rape victim having 24 weeks of pregnancy approached DLSA (NW) front office for legal aid. Her husband had deserted her and she was living alone for two years. Her request was to obtain a Court order for terminating her pregnancy as required by the doctor. The requisite application was filed by Legal Aid Counsel before Ld. Court concerned, however, same was dismissed as the pregnancy had crossed the legally permissible stage of termination.
The victim engaged same Legal Aid Counsel through DLSA (NW) for pursuing her maintenance case, already pending in family Court (as she was unable to pay the fee of her private counsel). The Legal Aid Counsel pursued her case professionally and also constantly counseled her. The victim delivered a baby in due course. Due to constant efforts of Legal Aid Counsel, her husband (who was living separately and had filed one case for divorce against victim) accepted her and the child. They withdrew all the cases filed against each other and are happily living together thereafter.
