Success Story – Sexual Abuse
An application for Sexual Abuse of three minor girls studying in EDMC School in the jurisdiction of P.S. Shakapur was received in DLSA East from one of the EDMC Counsellor deputed by Indian Medical Association in EDMC Schools for Counselling regarding Drug & Substance Abuse. The concerned Counsellor sent the written report to the Secretary, DLSA East and informed that during a Counselling Session in the concerned school, one of the girl student of that school brought the fact into the notice of that counsellor that her cousin brother has been sexually abusing her and her two sisters for a long time. After getting the details from the Counsellor, the Secretary, DLSA East immediately held a telephonic discussion with the DCP, East and conveyed the details. In continuation of the telephonic discussion, Secretary, DLSA East immediately wrote a letter to DCP, East mentioning therein the relevant details through special messenger with a request to take immediate necessary action as per law without delay. A copy of the said letter was also marked to SHO, P.S. Shakarpur, Delhi. Immediately after receiving the letter of Secretary, DLSA East, the DCP, East took immediate action and directed the concerned SHO to do the needful. The SHO, P.S. Shakarpur acted promptly in compliance of the aforesaid directions and deputed one Police Official to take necessary action. The medical examination of the victims was conducted. After obtaining the medical report, the FIR was registered at P.S. Shakapur and the accused was arrested.
Therefore, with the promptness shown by the DLSA East and the Police Authorities, the accused was put behind the bars.
