This is the story wherein a child marriage was stopped/cancelled due to the timely intervention of DLSA East. On 16.02.2018, an application was given by the sister of the minor girl to the legal aid counsel of East DLSA, Sh. Umesh Gupta and he submitted the said application before the DLSA East. On perusal of the said application, Sh. Umesh Gupta was appointed as legal aid counsel to do the needful for the appropriate legal action. In response to that our legal aid counsel approached the concerned authority at Delhi as well as Mathura, U.P. because the girl child taken to her native place at Mathura. After regular follow up and tireless efforts of the legal aid counsel, the marriage was cancelled. In this regard, a letter was also received from the SSP Mathura. It is a matter of great pride for us that due to the timely intervention a child marriage was stopped and life of an innocent girl was saved. I congratulate and commend the excellent work done by our legal aid counsel Sh. Umesh Gupta. I also thanks to the authorities at Mathura specially Sh. Swapnil Mamgai, SSP Mathura.
