DLSA (East) in association with Amba Foundation organised an Awareness Programe at Community Level on the topic “NALSA (Child Friendly Legal Services to Children and their Protection Scheme, 2015)” on 10.1.2018 by deputing Ms. Payal Raghav, LAC (DLSA)/East. The programme was appreciated by the participants.

DLSA (East) in association with CFAR NGO organised an Awareness Programme at Community Level on the topic Legal Services being provided by DLSAs at ISST Saathi Centre, Kalyanpuri Police Station, Delhi on 8.1.2018. In addition to the Awareness Programme, a Temporary Aadhar Card Kiosk was also set up at the aforesaid venue on the same day. Sh. Umesh Gupta, LAC (DLSA)/East was the Resource Person for the aforesaid programme who addressed the participants and had interactive session with them. The programme was appreciated by all concerned.

With a view to observe “Human Rights Day dt 10.12.2017”, DLSA (East) in association with DLSA (North-East & Shahdara) and Mandoli Jail Authorities organised an Awareness-cum-Health Check-up Camp at Mandoli Central Jail No.13 on 12.12.2017 for the Jail Inmates by deputing a team of doctors from Indian Medical Association (East Delhi Branch). Secretary of East & North-East also attended the programme and addressed the inmates on Human Rights and Provisions beneficial for Inmates. Doctors extended check up and medical guidance to the Jail Inmates. The programme was appreciated by all concerned.

In compliance of directions of NALSA & DSLSA, DLSA (East) organized Legal Help Camps in 03 identified Aaganwadi Centres No.25, 27 & 50 to fulfil the purpose of “Dehleej” project in Kalyan Puri area. The purpose of the camps was to provide legal help/assistance to inhabitants of locality for resolving their problems/queries particularly the ones identified during the campaign ‘Dehleej’ w.e.f 13.11.2017 to 25.11.2017. During these camps, one LAC alongwith two PLVs was deputed at each centre to assist the general public visiting the camps. The camps were attended by good number of people and efforts of NALSA, DSLSA & DLSAs were appreciated by all concerned.

Sh. Pawan Kumar, Secretary (DLSA)/East himself attended the programme as Resource Person addressed the students on the subject through lectures, Power Point Presentation and interaction.  Students were very enthusiastic in making queries with the Resource Persons which were satisfactorily responded to by the Resource Persons.  The programme was appreciated by all concerned.

Under the aegis of NALSA’s camping “CONNECTING TO SERVE” DLSA East has launched the Anganwadi Project “DEHLEEJ” by deputing PLVs to conduct Door to Door Campaign at Kalyan Puri, Delhi from 13.11.2017 to 25.11.2017 to have interaction with people at down-trodden areas, aware them about the Legal Aid Services provided by DLSA and distribute pamphlets of legal aid schemes during the said period.

Delhi State Legal Services Authority erstwhile Delhi Legal Aid & Advice Board has been constituted by an Act of Parliament passed under “The Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987” as amended by Legal Services Authorities (Amendment) Act, 2002, to provide free and competent legal service to the weaker sections of the society to ensure that opportunities for securing justice are not denied to any citizen by reason of economic or other disabilities, and to organize Lok Adalats to secure that the operation of the legal system promotes justice on a basis of equal opportunity.
