In compliance of directions issued by NALSA as received through DSLSA and as directed by the Hon’ble District & Sessions Judge/Chairman (DLSA)/East, Karkardooma Courts, Delhi, on the occasion of “Legal Services Day”, with a view to create Awareness amongst masses at down-trodden/rural areas, DLSA (East) in association with concerned Police Authorities, organised a Community Outreach Awareness-cum-Door to Door Camapign at four different locations at Geeta Colony, Gazipur & Kalyanpuri on 9.11.2017 at 2:00 pm onwards by deputing a team of Legal Aid Counsels & PLVs to have interactive session with the people at Community Level followed by distribution of pamphlets door to door. Police Officers of the concerned Police Stations were also present at the venue and ensured that the campaign is conducted without inconvenience. A large number of people were covered during the campaign. It was a successful event.

Umesh Gupta, Legal Aid Counsel, as “Resource Person”. A good number of participants attended the programme who were addressed to by the Resource Person on the topic.  Resource Person also held interactive session with them and responded to their queries satisfactorily.  The programme was appreciated by all concerned.

In compliance of the directions of DSLSA, DLSA East in association with “Sarthak Shiksha Samiti” organised an Awareness Campaign in Geeta Colony Area of East Delhi on 14.10.2017 on the topic “Say No To Crackers” by deputing Pulkit Luthra, Harshit Malhotra, Shreya Saini & Pulkit Luthra, PLVs of IIMT to aware the public on the topic and to distribute pamphlets issued by DSLSA in this regard. Large number of people were covered by the PLVs during the campaign and awared about the latest rulings on the topic. Ms. Meera Sabhharwal, President of Sarthak Shiksha Samiti also fruitfully extended her support for the aforesaid campaign. Programme was appreciated by all concerned.

Several queries were made by the Police Officers during the programme which were satisfactorily responded to by Secretaries of all the three DLSAs at Karkardooma Courts at Resource Persons. The programme was appreciated by all concerned

Delhi State Legal Services Authority erstwhile Delhi Legal Aid & Advice Board has been constituted by an Act of Parliament passed under “The Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987” as amended by Legal Services Authorities (Amendment) Act, 2002, to provide free and competent legal service to the weaker sections of the society to ensure that opportunities for securing justice are not denied to any citizen by reason of economic or other disabilities, and to organize Lok Adalats to secure that the operation of the legal system promotes justice on a basis of equal opportunity.
