East Dlsa, has organized the Legal Literacy Classes in Govt. Schools on the Topics “Functioning of Police Stations and set up of Judicial System & Drugs and Substance Abuse” and Legal services being rendered by DLSA” conducted on 30.08.2017. Sh. Umesh C. Mishra, LAC of DLSA (East) was the Resource Person. Programme was highly appreciated by the school authorities and the participants.

East DLSA organized a visit of students from Co-ed, COSMOS Public Sr. Sec. School, (40 Students) Vasundhra Enclave Delhi to observe proceedings of Karkardooma Courts on 26.08.2017. This was a nice Educational Trip for them. They watched proceedings of Courts Metropolitan Magistrates, Sessions Judges, Additional District Judge, Additional Sessions Judge, Mediation, Front Office of DLSA East. The students were interacted with Ld. Judges Ld. Secretary & replied their Queries satisfactorily. This was a reality check for the students as they had perceived a different concept of Courts as shown in pictures which could be changed through this visit only. The students remarked that an inquisitiveness to know about working of Justice System in our country had developed by this visit.

As directed by DSLSA, under “Greening Delhi Project”, DLSA East organised a Legal Literacy Programme in School, on “Awareness on Environment” on July 2017 for the students. Ms. Bhawani Sharma, SECRETARY, DLSA EAST has kindly consented to grace the occasion as Resource Person for the aforesaid programme. The programme was appreciated by all concerned.

She addressed the students on the topic and also had interactive session with them.  The programme was appreciated by all concerned.

Delhi State Legal Services Authority erstwhile Delhi Legal Aid & Advice Board has been constituted by an Act of Parliament passed under “The Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987” as amended by Legal Services Authorities (Amendment) Act, 2002, to provide free and competent legal service to the weaker sections of the society to ensure that opportunities for securing justice are not denied to any citizen by reason of economic or other disabilities, and to organize Lok Adalats to secure that the operation of the legal system promotes justice on a basis of equal opportunity.
