DLSA East has organized the monthly training programme for all the Legal Aid Counsels of DLSA East on 30thJanuary 2017. Sh. AJAY SINGH SHEKHAWAT, Ld. ASCJ/JSCC/CCJ, North-East, had kindly consented to grace the occasion with his esteemed presence as Resource Person and delivered lecture and interactive session with the participants on “Remand Provisions vis-a-vis Bail”. The participants appreciated the programme. Monthly Training Programme of Criminal (MM), Session Panel, Civil, ADJ, & Family Panel Advocates, conducted on 30.02.2017.

East Dlsa organized a visit of students (Co-ed) from St. Francis School, Abhay Khand, Indrapuram, Ghaziabad, UP to observe proceedings of Karkardooma Courts on 30.01.2017. This was a nice Educational Trip for them. They watched proceedings of Courts of Metropolitan Magistrates, Sessions Judges, Additional District Judge, Additional Sessions Judge, Mediation, Front Office of DLSA East. This was a reality check for the students as they had perceived a different concept of Courts as shown in pictures which could be changed through this visit only. The students remarked that an inquisitiveness to know about working of justice system in our country had developed by this visit.

East Dlsa in Assocation with Mandir Management Committee orgranised a Legal Awarness Progarmme on 29.01.17 Sunday at 10:30 am onwards at Sri Banke Bihari Mandir, Jheel, Delhi on the topic “Laws beneficial for the Senior Citizens & Services being Provided by DLSA”. The progamme was attended by good number of People. Ms. Payal Raghav, LAC, DLSA East, was the Resource Person who addressed the participants on the topics and had interactive session with them. She also distributed pamphlets of DLSA among the participants. the programme was appreciated by all concerned. Mandir Management Committee requested to organise such programme in future also.

DLSA East celebrated the 68th Republic Day with the students and general public at Community Level on 26th January, 2017 at “Chanda Kids & Public School” by deputing Sh. Umesh Gupta LAC as the Resource Person who delivered lecture on “Fundamental Duties under Constitution of India & Services being provided by DLSAs” and had interactive session with the participants. The Programme was attended by large number of people and included various cultural activities by the students. A Flag Hoisting ceremony was also organised to celebrate the occasion. The Programme was appreciated by all concerned. It was a great Programme.

DLSA East celebrated 68th Republic Day at Mandoli Jail on 26.1.2017. Secretary DLSA East participated in Flag Hoisting Ceremony at Mandoli  Jail and took round of the jail. Various cultural activities were performed by the Inmates of the jail during the programme. Secretary DLSA East had interaction with the inmates and congratulated them for their performances.  She distributed certificates for various activities to the Jail Authorities, Security Officials and jail inmates. She also witnessed a parade performed by Jail Authorities and Security Officials.  Secretary’s participation and sparing of time was highly appreciated by the Jail Authorities. The Programme was also covered by the media. Jail Authorities and Jail inmates welcomed the zeal shown by the Secretary.

In compliance of the directions of DSLSA, DLSA East has deputed its LACs to visit assigned “Shelter Homes” w.e.f. 18.1.2017 to 15.2.2017. In this series, first visit was conducted by Ms. Kavita, LAC of DLSA East on 25.01.2017 at “Human People to People India (HPPI), Mansrover Park Park-2, Lal Bagh Delhi” Shelter Home Delhi. She had interaction with available residents of the shelter home between 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Photographs of the visit are forwarded herewith.

Ms. Bhawani Sharma Secretary DLSA East visited “Lovely Flower Public School” as “Chief Guest-cum-Resource Person” on 24.1.2017 in the Annual Day Celebration of the school. She addressed the students on various topics and had interactive session with them. She distributed awards to the selected students for great performance in various school activities. Cultural activities were also performed by the students during the programme. School authorities thanked the Secretary DLSA East for participation in their Special Programme. Secretary DLSA East appreciated the Programme and the courtesy shown by the school authorities.
