DLSA South-East, under the aegis of NALSA and DSLSA, organised an awareness session on the occasion of World Senior Citizen Day, on the topic “Protection from Abuse and Neglect: Legal Remedies for Senior Citizens under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007” on 21.08.2026 at Shoews Guru Vishram Vridh Ashram NGO, F/A-19, Thokar No. 04, Abul Fazal Enclave, Okhla, New Delhi, for senior citizens. Adv. Sanjay Dutt, LSA, acted as the Resource Person and sensitised the participants about the legal remedies available to senior citizens against abuse and neglect, provisions relating to maintenance and welfare of parents and senior citizens, and the role of DLSA in providing free legal assistance. The participants were also made aware of DSLSA Helpline No. 1516 (24×7) and NALSA Helpline No. 15100 for seeking legal assistance. The programme witnessed the participation of approximately 50 beneficiaries.
