Shahdara DLSA organised Awareness Session on 03.09.2026 at Swabhiman Parisar, Kasturba Nagar, Delhi.
The session commenced with an introduction to the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 and the constitutional mandate of providing access to justice, particularly to persons belonging to vulnerable and disadvantaged sections of society. The participants were apprised of the role and functioning of DLSA Shahdara and the various legal services available to eligible persons, including free legal aid, legal advice and assistance, representation through panel advocates, Lok Adalat services, legal awareness and assistance in accessing government welfare schemes.
The Resource Person explained the eligibility criteria for availing free legal services and emphasized that lack of financial resources should not prevent any eligible person from approaching the justice delivery system. The participants were also informed about the various NALSA schemes and initiatives aimed at extending legal assistance to vulnerable groups, including women, children, victims of crime, persons with disabilities, persons in custody, senior citizens and other disadvantaged persons.
