


Under the Awareness Campaign “Legal Literacy for People, Planet and Prosperity / न्याय साक्षरता – जन, जीवन और जगत के लिए” being conducted under the JAGRITI Scheme, 2025, DLSA Shahdara organized a Legal Awareness Session on 22.09.2026 at Dilshad Garden, near Mechanic Chowk (Labour Chowk).
The session was conducted by Sh. Rohit Kataria, LAC, with the assistance of Sh. Kamta Prasad, PLV, with the objective of creating awareness among workers regarding their legal rights and entitlements, particularly those engaged in the unorganized sector.
During the session, the participants were apprised about the provisions and benefits available under the NALSA (Legal Services to the Workers in the Unorganized Sector) Scheme, 2015. The participants were also sensitized regarding labour rights, minimum wages, consumer protection and precautions against financial frauds.
The Resource Person explained the importance of receiving minimum wages and the available legal remedies in case of non-payment or violation of labour rights. The workers were also informed about their rights as consumers and the procedure for seeking redressal of consumer grievances. Further, awareness was created regarding common forms of financial fraud, online scams, fraudulent calls/messages and unauthorized financial transactions, along with precautionary measures to protect themselves.
