Success Stories

In furtherance and as a follow-up of Legal Services Camp held on 03.02.2018 at Kendriya Vidyalaya Vigyan Vihar Opposite Vivek Vihar Police Station, Delhi, District Legal Services Authority decided to hold few Follow-up Legal Services Camps at (i) Bikhari Basti, near Gauri Shankar Temple, Dilshad Garden, (ii) Sunlight Colony, Meena Bazaar, Old Seemapuri and at (iii) Kodhi Colony in front of Nand Gram Basti falling within the jurisdiction of Shahdara District. Vide these Legal Services Camps, this authority aimed to make members of public of the said locality aware about various activities and schemes run by District Legal Services Authority besides helping them in availing various schemes and benefits of government including “Filling of forms for preparation, rectification of Voter I-card, income certificates, caste certificates and Aadhar cards”.

            PLV. Ms. Kalpana Dhawan alongwith few other PLV’s were assigned duties to effectively organize these Follow-up camps in close association with office of District Magistrate, Shahdara. PLV Ms. Kalpana  conducted surveys for continuously 3 days and identified beneficiaries who are entitled under welfare laws and under various centre and state schemes. She also got few applications filled up in order to connect identified beneficiaries with welfare schemes being implemented by various departments. She also contacted the concerned nodal officer at the office of District Magistrate, DC Office Complex, Nand Nagri, Shahdara, Delhi and requested him to facilitate preparation of Aadhar Card, Income Certificate, Caste Certificate etc. on 9th , 12th and 13th of March as a large footfall of people was expected in these days owing to pre-camp surveys and preparations carried out by the PLV concerned.

With the sincere efforts of Team DLSA, Shahdara and Office of District Magistrate, Shahdara around 300 Aadhar Cards were issued to people belonging to marginalized sections of the society including beggars, rickshaw-pullers, leprosy patients, labourers etc. All these people lauded the efforts of team DLSA particularly Ms. Kalpana Dhawan who worked day in and day out for accomplishment of aforesaid task.
