A community-level Legal Awareness Session was organized on 09.05.2026 at Sunder Nagri, Delhi, from 10:00 AM onwards under the NALSA Scheme “ASHA and LSUC”.
The programme was conducted on the topics namely “Prohibition of Child Marriage” and “Child Labour Act” with the objective of spreading legal awareness among the children regarding the adverse social and legal consequences of child marriage and child labour. The session aimed to sensitize the participants about the rights of children.
Ms. Deepika Saxena, Learned Legal Aid Counsel, acted as the Resource Person for the programme and addressed the gathering in an informative and interactive manner. During the session, the provisions relating to prohibition of child marriage, protection of children from exploitation, compulsory education, rehabilitation measures, and legal remedies available to victims were explained in simple language for better understanding of the attendees.
The participants were also informed about the free legal aid and assistance being provided by DLSA Shahdara to eligible persons.
