Under the Awareness Campaign “Surakshit Bachpan, Surakshit Bhavishya” and the JAGRITI Scheme, 2025- POCSO Act Sensitization, Shahdara District Legal Services Authority organized an awareness session on the topic “Protection of Children from Sexual Offices (POCSO) Act, 2012 and Reporting Mechanisms” on 22.05.2026 for the students and faculty members of GBSSS, GT Road shahdra.

During the Session, Sh. Virendra Kasana, LAC and Resource Person, explained the provisions and objectives of the POCSO Act in a simple and interactive manner. She explained on the distinction between sexual harassment and sexual assault and sensitized the participants about the legal safeguards available to children under the Act. She further highlighted that reporting of such offences is mandatory for educational institutions under the law.

The resource person also explained the child-friendly environment maintained in POCSO Courts during the hearing of such cases and discussed the important role played by the police, teachers, and educational institutions in handling and reporting matters related to POCSO cases.
